Now we are always up for a challenge but this digital printed vinyl wrap on a marketing suite for a new development site in Kent really did test us! We were commissioned to branding the internal and external with branding and vinyl graphics which sounded straight forward enough. The internal element was easy, nice flat panels which we covered with a digitally printed high-resolution self adhesive vinyl print which we over-laminated with a matt vinyl to reduce the ‘high spots’ from the low voltage lights.
The portable marketing suite was just plain white and the client wanted to change it to its corporate colour and decided to wrap the porta-cabin. The printed vinyl wrap had to be completed before the launch which was going to be tight but achievable. However what the client did not tell us was the cabin was in the middle of the development site and the road to it was yet to be made. It was also going to be landscaped around whilst we were to fit the very delicate sticky vinyl wrap.
Typical to true form the English weather poured down with rain the day before making the marketing suite in a field of mud. The client got one of the large cranes stuck and we were tasked with wrapping the portacabin whilst people literally tarmaced and landscaped around us!
With site manager, groundworkers, landscapers, interior designer, electrician, tarmac contractors and us to work around each other you can image tensions were high. We were treading on the newly planted shrubs, the ground workers wanted people off what was supposed to be pavement and we just wanted some space and a clean place to work so we can get on with the wrap.
We were all on a time limit so everyone respected each other’s trade and just got on with it. After two days the marketing suite vinyl wrap inside and out was done.
Client very please as all elements around the marketing suite was done on time and thankful to all trades involved.
